Green Energy International Limited (GEINT) operates in the renewable energy market specialising in solar energy development. GEINT identifies potential sites, develops them through planning, and then arranges finance with partner investors. The company is able to offset the high initial capital costs associated with renewable generation by taking advantage of government tariffs and incentives and then works with internationally renowned investment funds to raise the capital required to develop a project. Capital investment in the industry drives innovation and spurs technological advancement which in turn drives down prices making more green energy projects financially viable in the future.
GEINT’s team of specialists are involved throughout every phase of project including site selection and on-site-survey, project development and design, grid connection and planning applications, to project financing, construction, installation and finally ongoing maintenance. A project is selected for development only if it meets GEINT’s strict development guidelines. The team then work closely with trusted suppliers and manufacturers and always hires recognised and respected local contractors. The company owns and operates the renewable projects that it develops.
Whilst the core business is centred on both land and rooftop projects the company constantly evaluates potential markets and new technologies. The Directors work hard to establish new business relationships as the renewable energy market continues to expand offering new opportunities such as car ports, battery storage and floataics. GEINT is currently identifying other opportunities within the renewable energy sector. Consequently, GEINT has developed a significant pipeline of project opportunities throughout the United Kingdom and The Republic of Ireland all of which help reduce the world’s dependence on fossil fuels and create a greener and cleaner environment and planet.
Arthur Bell - Chief Executive Officer
Following a long and distinguished career in academia spanning nearly thirty years Arthur took early retirement. This prompted him, after careful consideration, to set up Belmoy Homes in February 2007, a local building contractor. He quickly identified the opportunity for domestic roof top solar systems and soon set Green Energy UK Direct in partnership with a co-director.
After six highly successful years Arthur became the founder of Green Energy International, drawing on the experience of having developed numerous farm based and commercial roof top installations across the UK, Pakistan, South Africa and the Middle East.
Arthur is a passionate hands-on leader who places communication and education at the heart of all his managerial decisions. By focussing his teams on the local community and sustainability, Green Energy International is growing rapidly in an environmentally sustainable and socially responsible manner.
Lisa O' Farrell - Managing Director
When the two Directors set up Green Energy UK Direct Ltd Lisa was one of the first recruits bringing key negotiating, project management and finance skills. Whilst responsible for the day-to-day running of the busy and rapidly expanding office her main focus was to project manage sites from pre-planning through to build and energisation. This entailed regular planning meetings with our Partner Developers, County Planning Officers and District Network Operators as well as crucial liaison with our Strategic Investors.
As the business grew and developed Lisa’s skills were readily transferable from commercial to farm projects and from domestic to international opportunities. This resulted in her dealing with all the legal aspects of a solar PV project as well as the setting up and running of joint venture partnerships to develop, run and manage portfolios of projects.
In April 2016 Lisa was made Managing Director of Green Energy International to oversee all legal and financial aspects of the company’s growing portfolio of UK and International projects. Lisa now has regular dealings with Fund Managers representing some of Europe’s biggest investment and private equity funds.
Mathew Bayley - Head of International Planning
Mat joined Green Energy UK Direct in October 2012 as Town and Country Planner, having graduated from Sheffield Hallam University with a Masters degree in Urban and Regional Planning. His prime responsibility was dealing with planning applications for large scale solar farms across the UK from initial site selection through to the submission of completed planning applications.
As the business grew Mat built a team of highly skilled architects, designers and planning specialists permitting all aspects of the planning process to be handled in-house. The main focus includes overseeing site selection, due diligence based on planning and commercial risk, preparation of planning applications and design management. This includes liaising with clients, consultants, local authorities and local council representatives as well as undertaking public consultation and surveying sites. The team are highly skilled at managing planning from submission through to the decision and discharging of planning conditions. To date not one of over 30 planning applications submitted have been rejected.
In March 2016 Mat was promoted to Head of Planning and stepped across to sister company Green Energy International to concentrate on GEIL’s ever expanding portfolio of non-UK projects including Ireland, Zambia and Pakistan.
Mike Whetter - Sales and Marketing Manager
When Mike joined Green Energy UK Direct in November 2013 he brought with him a wealth of sales and marketing experience having worked for household names such as Imperial Leather, Chivers Hartley and the Royal Mint. Whilst having the responsibility to oversee the design and production of all the company’s marketing collateral and websites Mike’s main focus was to build and develop a sales team. Within a matter of months a team of six out bound call specialist were making the initial contact with land owners across the UK.
The team also conducted the initial site study including site visit and dealt with all matters related to getting a connection offer from the District Network Operator for each individual project. Over the course of three years over 400 grid applications were made resulting in nearly 100 live projects totalling over 750MW’s.
Having researched and identified a major emerging opportunity for solar PV systems in the Republic of Ireland Mike now works exclusively for Green Energy International. As Sales and Marketing Manager he leads the team working with land owners to develop a solar PV project. To date they are managing a portfolio of over 70 live projects totalling nearly 400MW’s.
